The Charlie Parker Institute of Jazz education program includes:  Individual music instruction in voice, piano, bass, drums, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone  Group music instruction  Basic jazz music theory  Improvisation workshops  Songwriting and music composition workshops  Jazz history  Kansas City jazz history  Music business and career planning  Performing a lot of class  Studio recording and production opportunities  Performance group practice

Life Skills Program

In addition to jazz education programming, The Institute offers life skills training to encourage positive choice making and character in leadership development in our youth.  Areas of instruction include:  Drug and alcohol prevention  Character building  Leadership development  Etiquette and manners  Life skills training

Interdisciplinary Arts Program

The interdisciplinary arts programs are designed to interweave the jazz art form through other artistic mediums.  Interdisciplinary arts programs include:  Dance-African, tap, and jazz  Theater arts  Visual arts-painting, sculpture, photography  Multimedia productions-video production, recording, and computer animation.
